Old and married

Well, as of 2:00 p.m. Saturday, I'm Mrs. Nielsen. Everything went really well, and I am really glad it's over. I always thought I'd really enjoy planning a wedding, but I think my notion of wedding planning was a little romanticized. The months preceding the wedding were more about worrying about making sure everyone (including us) would be happy. Especially out-of-town guests, since we had a very un-elaborate ceremony and reception.

The highlights included our rehearsal dinner, which everyone enjoyed so much they ended up going back for dinner their last night in town; the photographer insisting that me running in the ocean with my stockings on and my dress hiked up around my waist would be a wonderful wedding portrait; my sister's wardrobe issues; the food and the cake, which were spectacular; and of course the "I do" part. I'll post the wedding wading photo if it is fit for other eyes. I'm only a little bitter that Buzzy didn't have to stand in fifty-degree water, too.

We're leaving for Michigan on the 13th, with stops in Washington, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. That's all for now. :)
